Jeff Walter has served on the Village of Elburn Board since 2009, first as a Trustee, then as Mayor since 2017. During his tenure, he has helped guide the community through a period of steady growth while maintaining its small-town character and strong sense of community. A U.S. Navy veteran and retired Master Chief Petty Officer, Jeff brings a commitment to service, leadership, and integrity to Village Hall.  Jeff and his wife, Carrie, and their two children have been proud to call Elburn home since 2006. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, he and his family came to Elburn via Keller, Texas.

In addition to his role as Mayor, Jeff represents Elburn on several regional boards, including the Metro West Council of Governments, the Northwest Water Planning Alliance, and the Aurora Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. His leadership has supported improvements in infrastructure, fiscal responsibility, and public safety, as well as enhanced parks, community events, and economic development.

Jeff holds degrees in Finance (BS), Manufacturing Management (MS), and Business Administration (MBA), and brings decades of experience in business and information technology to municipal government. Outside of his official duties, he is an active volunteer with local service organizations, including the Elburn Lions and the St. Gall Knights of Columbus.  In his spare time, he enjoys golf, live music, theater, and time with family and friends.
