Growth in the Village of Elburn
The Village of Elburn is a charming rural community of approximately 7,000 residents, located 10 miles west of the Fox River and 5 miles north of the IL Rt. 47 and I-88 interchange in central Kane County. The goal of the Village of Elburn is to preserve its character as a charming place to live and a prosperous area for business. The Village seeks to encourage moderate and well-balanced growth. The growth that contains a balance of commercial and residential land uses will ensure that a stable tax base is maintained, as well as the character of the community.
The current Comprehensive Plan was updated in September 2020. The Comprehensive Plan was amended in July 2022 to include the Elburn Connects Study and again in May 2024 to be consistent with the Zoning Code update.
